2005 / November 16th/ Actually getting things done
I’d like to introduce a new way of living. It’s called Kyle’s method for actually getting things done (AGTD™ for short). Here’s the synopsis: Instead of finding new ways to organize your email and synchronize your index-card filled trowsers, just get off your ass and do something (GOYADS™).
Utilizing GOYADS I’ve seen individuals boost their productivity over 3,000%. That’s right folks: three-thousand percent. If you want to get in on this action, follow the simple steps below:
- When you find yourself staring at that oh, so intriguing spot in your wall (the same place that you smooshed that spider that had that strange green speck on it’s legs last week) for more than ten minutes, GOYADS.
- If you find yourself staring at the idiot-box (that’s a television for you normal folks) for more than an hours, GOYADS.
- Instead of taking that cat-nap during the day, GOYADS.
- Instead of checking your statistics program for the 15th time today, GOYADS.
But how, pray tell, does one GOYADS?
Here are some example activities to help you GOYADS:
- Do 10 sit-ups.
- Walk around to the other side of the house and engage in conversation with one of your roomates.
- Tune-up your car*
- Clean your dishes
- Run into a wall
*No actual tuning up need actually occurr.
