2006 / April 11^th/ Blame Bryan Veloso

Seriously, it’s all his fault.

Where was I one year ago?

I was in about the same place I was now. By day, going to school here at Cal Poly studying Civil Engineering, by day working at Web Associates, by day biking everywhere… uhh, notice a trend? I was extremely stressed out around this time last year. I was still trying to find a balance between school and work, and not having a car (in SLO). It ended up resulting in me abandoning a lot of things (take a look at the archives and see what happened), and a lot of people for a couple month period while I looked up the definition of moderation.

Around April was the point when I realized I can’t be superman and I needed to cut back on a few things. I stopped taking 18 unit quarters, took a few hours out of my work schedule for delicacies like sleep and time to just chill out. I also brought my car down here from home after receiving a hefty raise.

Where was I five years ago?

Wow, 2001… I was only 16 years old, finishing up my sophomore year in high school. It’s weird, I can hardly think back to that time at all. I guess high school was mostly uneventful for me. This is about the time in my life that I started weaning off my addiction to online games and started messing around with a bit of programming and wishing I could design better. I think 2001 was also the first year I started building all CSS layouts… moving away from WYSIWYGs. Although, at this point in time I really wasn’t on the computer that much - I was too busy being an all-star band geek to do that.

Oh, and let’s not forget being a complete and total goober when it comes to the opposite sex.

Where was I ten years ago?

Ten years ago… 1996… that would put me at 11 years old. Umm, yeah. Like I’m going to remember that :) About all I can remember from 6th grade was having far too much fun with magnifying glasses.
