2007 / March 11th/ California on the brain

The recent stretch of The Most Beautiful Weather EverTM hit San Luis Obispo this weekend. I woke up today to the sun in my face, already a wonderful 73Ëš outside. Needless to say there was no productivity to be had today; the afternoon gave to a drive through the coast with the moonroof down and warm wind blowing past my face. It’s times like this that I remember how much I love California, and how much I love the Central Coast.
I was driving around tonight just after sunset, and I’ve got 311 blasting, cruising down the PCH I hear the lyrics:
I mean, champagne
California on the brain
Which is just about perfect.
Just last week I made the final decision to take next quarter off work. Not because I don’t enjoy it, but rather I just want a break. I have had some kind of job along with school since mid-way through freshman year — a little over four years without a vacation. The next three months will be wonderful. Starting April 1 I won’t have anything but school to worry about for at least 3 months.
This weekend I confirmed my suspicion that all females have gone crazy for the month of March, as my co-worker Jason mentioned today as well. Though the weekend was good. Birthday celebrations on Friday. A viewing of 300 last night, which was amazing. Washing the car. Driving through the coast. The music goes on:
I’ll be here a while, ain’t going nowhere
I’ll be here a while, ain’t going nowhere
I’ll be here a while, ain’t going nowhere
I’ll be here a while
I suppose I’ve just got California on the brain.

Yeah, California has the best damn weather. I just moved to Bakersfield from Ohio a few months ago, but man, just a short two hour drive to Ventura and San Luis Obispo is just like paradise.

It was really nice in paso robles too (but i spent the whole day on the computer so I am judging “nice” by how it looked though closed blinds. I need to make it to slo more often.

The weather (I’m in San Jose) rocked this weekend. It’s starting to feel like spring/summer already, especially with daylight savings. Has winter even passed yet?

I do believe winter is gone for good. Forecast for this week is all in the mid 70’s, which I’m more than fine with. Time to break out the flip-flops and say farewell to the socks!

Looks like that picture was taken in Morro Bay ;-). But yes, the weather this weekend was beautiful. However homework prevented me from enjoying it. Nice to see another blogger from SLO!

Nick: Yep, just at the end of Embarcadero! (Also where I’m designing a bridge for my senior project)

I’ve been dreaming of California for about a year now. Although we have nice weather here in Minnesota today with a high of about 55, it just can’t be as nice at 75. And our roads suck…

I lived in Santa Barbara and went to college there for 3 years, I know exactly what you are talking about. Made it up to SLO a few times for some shows at the Brew House and some Mardi Gras fun. Now I’m down in San Diego, but you can’t really beat either place! Great site btw.
